Out and About

At Filey Holiday Cottages we believe that we have created the ideal setting for your perfect break, for however long you choose to stay with us.

The location of our group of cottages offers something for everyone. Set in a rural location close to the coast, the cottages will allow you to take full advantage of the scenic traditional British seaside town of Filey, while for those who enjoy striding out along rural trails the North Yorkshire Moors are on your doorstep.

Filey is a traditional Victorian English seaside town with a friendly atmosphere. A perfect place for an active holiday, or just to relax with the restful background of fishermen mending their nets.

The five-mile stretch of award winning sandy beach is protected by the rocky grandeur of Filey Brigg, Surfing, fishing, yachting, golf, walking and bird watching are just a few of the activities, which are here to be enjoyed.

The Evron Centre provides plentiful entertainment with music, song, dance and theatre on offer. Afterwards you can visit one of the many restaurants or local hostelries and enjoy the superb cuisine.

If you should wish to travel further afield you will find that Yorkshire glories in one of the finest stretches of coastline in Britain: golden beaches, rocky coves and towering cliffs. Bridlington and award winning Scarborough are major resorts with new ‘seaside style’ and further north, Whitby is a picturesque fishing port and inspiration for Bram Stoker’s Dracula. Filey and Hornsea are traditional favourites and proud to stay that way, while Staithes and Robin Hood’s Bay are quieter havens.

The North York Moors National Park is close at hand and further south the lovely Yorkshire Wolds are the scenic background to the coastline offering great scenic variety – open moorland and secluded dales extending to the rugged coast.

Why not travel across the moors in traditional style, The North Yorkshire Moors Railway provides some 18 Miles of preserved steam railway running through the spectacular scenery of the North Yorkshire Moors.

The attractions of Flamingo Land, which is a Theme Park, Zoo and Holiday Park all on one site is within easy traveling distance and should provide an interesting day out for all of the family.
